An incredible artist named Alice wrote to me with an unusual and creative submission. I’m rather blown away. She made up some characters that she draws in actual clothes she’s been coveting/ checking out. One of her characters, named Ada, is into a lot of menswear and gender-nonconforming styles….

eeeeeeeeee

qwear asked: Thanks so much for the submission! Just posted it. You are an incredible artist... so inspired by your creativity.

Awesome! Thank you so much! Super inspired by your blog too :)

I really wish I had some context for this photo. Where is it from? What? Was it an ad or for real? Whatever the case, I really like it.

On my way back from the grocery store, I passed this sign, which is clearly using AXE COP without permission!  But perhaps this is the best copyright infringement I have ever seen??

i saw this yesterday and was gonna ride my bike back tomorrow to take a picture of it to show the axe cop dude but a google image search for “axe cop la ley” says you got to it before me! this is on the corner of like coronado and hmmm….6th or nearby, right? or are there more!?

I have seen four of them so far, actually!  I didn’t notice that I got the street sign in this photo, but you can kinda see “Coronado” if you squint, so this must be the same one.  This was taken as I was headed east on 3rd street, if I recall correctly, toward downtown.  I’ve seen a bunch of them while driving on 3rd street.  There’s also one right near Langer’s deli on 7th street.

Yeah, Coronado and 3rd sounds about right. I was riding south on Coronado. I love that there are more of them! How did this happen? What is the story? Does the graphic designer who made this read Axe Cop (and if so, does s/he not know about copyright infringement)? Is it a lazy google image search issue? AH I love it.
